when I went for the interview, I have truck load of documents..everyone was looking wierd at us..
They didnt check any Tax returns, bank statements..BUT DO TAKE THEM.
may be she didnt check them because I had a big bump around filing date.

I think the IO just say anything that comes into their mind because they know nobody's there to hold them accountable during the interview process. Thats why I think one should take an attorney along during the interview process if they think their case maybe little complicated. At least the attorney can step in when it comes to the IOs denying your application improperly. Does anyone think this is a good idea to be on safer side?

To qualify under Master's you must have COMPLETED ALL requirements on the day you file the H1. Meeting the same POST filing will NOT be considered by USCIS (i.e., case will be denied). Better letter to submit is one coming from REGISTRAR of the school. A simple statement that you met all requirements for MS degree and that the actual diploma will be given on so and so date will suffice.

I grow different kind in my backyard. It all depends on the size of your backyard and which zone you live in states. I live in virginia. By this August end /september first week summer crop will end. I grow tomatoes(30 plants), Mint, snake guard, water melons (15 plants), cantaloupes(10 plants), carrots, okra, spinach , chillis. Its fun and hard work too. You need to dig the soil, mix with top soil or garden soil and cultivate it. Every week fertilize it. This is my first year gardening. I have around 3000 square ft of back yard. i do not know what to do with that. I cannot maintain Lawn in back yard. So I decided to grow vegetables.
I am eagerly waiting for my fall garden..I am planning to grow tulips,beets,cilantro,carrots,potato,peas etc., If I can get same space for garden In India and work place just 3 miles from home , I can happily go back to India.

Where do you get the seeds from? I get seeds like Lauki (bottle gourd), Turai (Ridge gourd) etc from amazon. I was never able to grow cantaloupes and melons successfully.

I haven't been called for an interview yet, and I hope things remain that way. But I have to thank you for taking the time to share every little detail of your AOS interview. Besides the initiatives that IV undertakes, to me, the next best thing about this forum is enthusiastic members like yourself sharing their stories on AOS interviews, H-1B stamping interviews, RFE/denials/MTR, Infopass, Travelling with AP/Port of Entry and anything else that can be a little nerve racking when you don't know what to expect.
I hope we all do the same for the benefit of this community.

After getting the form notarized (from a UPS store that has a public notary available), I made a second trip to the consulate and was able to submit the documents! (btw, I was in the queue for 1.5 hours!,,,Those of you going to the NY consulate, make sure u get there when doors open!)
Something new had to pop out.. So, after submission I was told the process could take four weeks because they need some sort of clearance from the consulate that issued the original passport. What sort of clearance.. I have no idea. My passport was issued in Doha. But I have heard from some of my friends who had passports issued in India also facing the same issue.
So those of you planning to travel in the near future and need to go to the consulate for passport reissue, go as early as possible and rid urself of some stress! :rolleyes:

Friend - Why don't you wait till 9/18 and have this discussion. Oh, hold on, by that time, the rally will be a huge success and you won't be around here to show your face. Strength is in numbers and you will see the power of immigrants on 9/18. If we could reverse a visa bulletin with a rally of 350+ members and couple of hundred flowers, we will be headlines with 10000+ rally.
