Alright, enough of beating you down. Now if your crime was adjudged civil infraction, I won't worry too much about it. Civil infractions are leinennt, but you are now all set for rest of your life to be in public records. Future employers and creditors would see that too when they do background checks. Other than that you got nothing to worry about. Go ahead and continue to plan for your India visit. But may I advise not to indulge into that habit of shoplifting? ... uhmm I know gifts can be very expensive.:cool:

Why should only GC holders get this 'permission'? F1, J1, L1 and H1 people should also be able to get their parents. Also, add all their dependents, H4, L4(??) whatever. We can all live as a big family then. Or, just pack up and go back to India.
Its ridiculous to hear people saying that they like to live in the US because of human values here, but then talk about Indian values. Please make up your mind. It's not just my family, my siblings, my whatever..... Think outside 'your' little world.

Thanks for your suggestion. I did query about the kind of advertising that we can do. It doesn't look like we'll get much money. Since most of the people are viewing the forums and forums typically have low advertising rates because people using them tend to be highly engrossed in the topic.

Yes I have receipt the Receipt. Reached the 485 on July 2, 07. Finger Printing notice already receipt.. due in first week Sep. You can check online status here:

Did you apply 485 in August 07 and already your status is showing pending? Did you receive a receipt notice?

There has been established a way to deal with backlogs at Dallas and Philly, and these officials at PBEC and DBEC have been given a deadline of Sept 2007 to clear everything. So someting is and will be done in this regard. Not much more can be done here with PBEC or DBEC, and the real test is to get solutions for the retrogression.
Once the laws are passed on the immigration reforms, its a done deal my friend, and then it does not matter how much we try after this to address retrogression. This is our only chance.
BUT realize that there have been delays in PBEC and DBEC only because of lack of resources, which can be added or taken off...and this will speed up or slow down DBEC or PBEC. This can be controlled outside legislation.
BUT THAT IS NOT THE CASE WITH RETROGRESSION. NO VISA NUMBERS = NO PROGRESS TOWARDS FINAL GREEN CARD. DONE DEAL.

everyone loves their money....but think if nothing will change how much of your loved money you will spend every year to renew EAD and AP...just do the calculations and you will think that it is worth to part some of our loved money..
No offense Nik..but dude my company actually pays for it..so no loss..in renewing EAD..but unfortunatly my EAD is not yet approved..so I am not yet there.....SAD

I think there is a way you can file 485 when I-140 is pending. One of my friends did that during July Fiasco.
Check with a lawyer and be prepared for that moment.

Even my 140 was filed with CP. My PD was current last month. I filed my 485 (AOS) last week. As per my attorney if CP is specified in your 140, you have 2 options. You can file CP or AOS. You can just file for AOS. No need to convert. But AOS is speicifed in your 140 and want to convert to CP. Thank you need to file some form.
