I am also in PA and my DL(driving licence) will expire in last of September month and my H1b extension is still pending at California Center . Can i get DL renewed from PENNDOT on the basis of Receipt Notice of H1b Extension and a letter from employer ?

EADs include special security measures to prevent counterfeiting and forgery. Only certain centers have the machinery needed to produce these cards. Since EADs are used as REAL ID for travel and DL etc., USCIS decided to stop issuing Interim EADs at Field Offices.
So despite what USCIS memo says I am concerned that Interim EADs are unlikely to be issued (this point in the memo might be an oversight by the officer who issued it). AFAIK Field Offices can only make a request to expedite the case. I would like to know if anyone has got Interim EAD recently. If so let us know!

USCIS has a habit of dodging every prediction that is made here. I think there is only one rule in USCIS : "There is no rule". People behave and do the things they want and we spend tons of time and effort calculating the numbers and all that they do is print the bulletin according to the "mood of the day"

When we conducted D.C. rally, there were roughly 1500 people attended. Each member has his/her own reason for not attending the rally.
The reasons could be, taking a day off from work or to far from their place etc..,
As a first step��..:)
Why don�t we plan for rally on the same day, same time at various major cities? This would enable members to attend in their respective cities.
We knew that, we are 25K+ members strong and can hold rallies/protests, where we have (major cities) at least 100+ members.
We must invite media and local US leader�s for rally and show our strength and request them to work towards the Green Cards.
Why don�t we plan for a rally during the this Christmas season?

Have you talked to lawyers with arguments you have mentioned here? Do you think there is a strong legal ground for success? For all five "questions" you have asked, there is legal backing. Law sees legal grounds, not sentiments, which seem to be the prime content of what you have stated.

What we are talking here is whether One holding 3 yr bachelors Degree from India be eligible to apply under EB-2 category after completing Masters Degree from an accredited university.
If the PERM Job description says " Masters Degree"
The cheapest place to get a masters is still in India. The IGNOU MCA costs $1000 in India, and they plan to let you take exams in the future in the US. Or maybe you could do everything online and just visit to take the exam.
MKU, another well known online university has a US branch. I heard an MS is less than $2000.
Both these are generally recognized in the US

If I read you correctly, and if someone from IV does appear before congress, we should expect BEC mess/failure (PBEC in particular) also being brought to the attention of the lawmakers, not just the retrogression. Correct?

If I understand your question correctly, then if you are using H1 then you need to be on payroll all the time. Does not matter whether or not using AC21. This applies even after 180 days of your AOS. If you use EAD then you can be without a job.

Section 11 has been created for you to tell them abt last EAD APPLICATION.
Keyword here is "application".
So in the Date I wrote the EAD application date and not the recept date.
This can be found on the last EAD receipt notice.
You are already sending them a copy of front and back of current EAD, where they can find on which date the EAD was approved etc.
Most cases Ideally current immigration status is "I-485 ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS PENDING".

gc101, if you are not able to get married before you you file your I485 (by Aug 17th). I would recommend that you file alone. these are my reasons for this recommendation:
1) You have more options open to you for your wife after you file I485 (ie. throught family based categories, even though the wait time is 7 years).
2) If you don't file now and have to wait for you PD to get current, with the current laws that might be close to 6-7 years. In this time you might get your GC and your citizenship too. After citizenship your wife can get her GC very quickly.

From the same memorandum:
"Accordingly, if the employer withdraws the approved Form I-140 on or after the date that the Form I-485 has been pending 180 days, the approved Form I-140 shall remain valid under the provisions of �106(c) of AC21. It is expected that the alien will have submitted evidence to the office having jurisdiction over the pending Form I-485 that the new offer of employment is in the same or similar occupational classification as the offer of employment for which the petition was filed. Accordingly, if the underlying approved Form I-140 is withdrawn, and the alien has not submitted evidence of a new qualifying offer of employment, the adjudicating officer must issue a Notice of Intent to Deny the pending Form I-485. See 8 CFR 103.2(b)(16)(i). i am in the 3.a. situation. what does part time mean? can you really be working part time when you are a CEO, CFO, COO, CMO of a company? not that i am raising this questions... I want to continue to be in the 3.a. situation, but can the IO ask these questions? if i make revenue of $20000 (twenty thou) and profit of $2000 a year will that be considered enough for IO to think that my intention is to switch to my company after green card and hence no intention of continuing permanent employment? or is that number higher (or lower)...
I want to become a believer in your 3.a. statement... please let me know what you think.

1. If you are on H1 - You can technically start a business but since you cannot "work" towards it, in practice it's almost impossible
2. If you are on H1 and have an EAD - You can start a business. But if you use your EAD, you are no longer on H1. (There are contradicting views on using EAD for PT while still maintaining H1. For now, this is a grey area)
3. If you are on EAD -
a. If you plan to work on your business on a part time basis and stay with your sponsored job full time, I don't see a problem with this.
b. If you plan to work on your business full time, you might have an issue with a RFE at the I-485 stage as you would have used AC21 for self employment (Some people say this is okay, but it depends on your risk taking ability)
Thoughts?

Impressive to see that this thread jumped from discussing Rahman Oscar award accomplishment to terrorism.
Anyway, Rahman has come a long way from being unknown composer in his first move 'Roja' to competing in gloabl arena of Academy Awards.
It has to be a movie produced by American production house to compete in wide variety of categories. Competing from foreign country reduces the exposure.
It would be wrong to say that Rahman's talent was showcased in slumdog millionaire coz he has obvioulsy done rich material even before, but this time the timing was perfect and he was at the right time in the right place. I would like to see his doing background score for good hollywood movie. The fusion would be interesting.

Sorry for the delay. I was out of action for the last week or so and hence couldn't reply earlier. Thanks for your suggestions and keep them coming.
We have added more words to the meta keywords of the site. However we do have to realize that what really matters in Search Engine rankings is the linking from other sites. Hence as we're getting more and more exposure, more sites link to us and it is boosting our ranking.
